Educated Heriot School. Represented five separate unions in six seasons. Played for New Zealand against North Otago in a preliminary match before the 1930 Lions tour and appeared in the first two Tests of that series. Despite a fine try in the 2nd Test he was dropped in a reshuffle of the backline. Described as ‘a very solid type of wing… defence excellent and plenty of pace when he got going.’ His statistics were given as 510” and l2st 4lb. Served as a Horowhenua selector 1949-50; Manawatu-Horowhenua 1949-50. Worked as a prison officer and hydatids inspector.
